ELECTED OFFICERS

MARTY SIEDERER – President

Marty, currently serving as Vice President of The Club, is a Consultant for non-profits.  He graduated from Rutgers – Livingston College with a degree in journalism and urban studies. As a Loyal Son of Rutgers and recipient of the RAA Walter Seward Class of 1931 Award, his volunteerism to Rutgers is outstanding.  He currently is the President of the Rutgers School of Communication & Information Alumni Association and served as President of both the Livingston Alumni Association and the Rutgers Alumni Association.  Marty is a former alumni representative to the University Senate.

CHRIS VAN EERDE – Vice President

Chris is completing his first term as Member-at-Large and being nominated for the position of Vice President.  A graduate of RU with degrees in Criminal Justice and Sociology, he currently is a Detective and Hostage Negotiator with the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.  Chris has been involved with the RUAA for several years and has been the recipient of the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award, as well as the Law Enforcement Coordinator of the Year Award.  He serves on the NJ Collective Negotiations and Peer Support Committees for the NJPBA and is a decorated baseball official.

MIETTE BROWN – Secretary

Miette is completing her first term as Member-at-Large on the Executive Board and is being nominated for the position of Secretary.  She is a dedicated educator specializing in gifted and STEM education, a Trustee for the New Jersey Association for Gifted Children, and has a strong background in event planning. She is a Learning Experience Leader, was selected to present papers at both state and national professional conferences, and works with MAST STEM Academy in Shenzhen, China.

KIM SCIALLO – Treasurer

Currently the President of The Rutgers Club, Kim was asked to move to the position of Treasurer because of her strong leadership background, including financial management.  She is retired as the Global Process Owner of Credit Risk Management for John Wiley & Sons, Inc., and has held several College/University leadership positions including Chair of the Alumni Leaders Council, Corporate Secretary of the Rutgers University Alumni Association, and current Chair of the University College – Rutgers N.B. Alumni Association.  She is a graduate of University College – Rutgers New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in Labor Studies.

MEMBERS-AT-LARGE

ANDREW COUSINS – Member-at-Large

Andrew is completing his first appointed term as Chair of the Finance/Audit Committee and is seeking election for the position of Member-at-Large.  For more than ten years, Andrew has been on the RU staff and currently serves as the Director of Budgeting and Accounting for the Division of Student Affairs. He feels that his experience in financial management will be invaluable in managing The Club’s finances and ensuring fiscal responsibility.  He also hosts a podcast and has built a network of connections and skills that he feels will be beneficial in assisting The Club in event planning and community engagement.

KRISHNA JHAVERI – Member-at-Large

Krishna received his undergraduate degree from RU School of Arts and Sciences and his juris doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School. He is seeking his first term as a Member-at-Large. As an attorney, he believes his substantial legal background and prior public service will benefit both the Rutgers Club and the Executive Committee. He also views his involvement with the Rutgers Club and Executive Committee as an opportunity to give back to his alma mater through volunteer work. He is the recipient of the NJ “Unsung Hero” Award which recognizes the successful contributions of attorneys who work behind the scenes to deliver outstanding client results.

ROSIE KASICA – Member-at-Large

Rosie is seeking her first term as a Member-at-Large.  A graduate of RU with a BA in Journalism & Mass Media, she earned her MA in Broadcast Journalism from New York University.  She serves on the Advisory Board of the Rutgers Institute for Women’s Leadership, and is a mentor in the Alison R. Bernstein Media Mentoring Program. Rosie is a member of both the National and State Associations for the Society of Professional Journalists. Currently, Rosie is an Administrative Specialist at Far Hills Country Day School.

DR. SUSAN MANSFIELD BYRNE – Member-at-Large

A member of The Rutgers Club for 40+ years, Susan is seeking her second term as Member-at-Large.  She has served The Club as Secretary, Co-Chair of the Special Events Committee, and conceived of and planned the Nine and Dine golf events.  She helped with the transition from the Club’s College Avenue location to its current home on Livingston Campus by planning both the grand opening and 60^th anniversary of The Club.  A graduate of Douglass College and the RU Graduate School of Education, Susan is a retired Elementary School Principal.
